  • Extraordinary Energy
Mano [PGC - President] — Parent

“I have known Jey-son for the better part of two decades and in everything he does, he brings extraordinary energy, passion, and focus. Jey-son has been involved in several of our programs and he always adds significant value to athletes and staff alike. I know anything Jey-son takes on, he does so with excellence. ”

  • Mental and Skill Preparation
George [YNBA - President] — Parent

“Within the past 6 years, I have had the event director personally work with two players of mine (my daughter being one) to assist in them with the mental and skill preparation for a varsity university basketball career. My daughter is currently playing in her third year at Laurentian and their help was a big part of that!”

  • Fun and encouragement
    Candice — Parent

"This was an excellent opportunity for my daughter. She had a blast, lots of laughs, fun, encouragement!"

  • Willing to coach anyone that wants to learn
Sam [Nipising University - Player] — Camper

“One of the things that most impresses me was that they are willing to coach anyone that wants to learn and love the game. They work as hard with a group of tier five Team Ontario Basketball athletes as he does with the University athletes that attend his summer program. Their goal is always improvement and getting the most out of people.”

  • Passion for the game shines through
Nada [Niagara Purple Eagles - Player] — Camper

“The passion for the game shines through in every moment of teaching. There staff is able to create the most positive, energetic and fun learning environment for those looking to develop their skills. They truly care and will do everything it takes to help you grow as an athlete, and an individual.”

Director's Message

Jey-son Edwards, Director of Operations

The Four Point Basketball philosophy is based on four fundamental aspects of basketball shooting: Form, Accuracy, Range and Speed. Through simple game-situational drills, one-on-one interaction with athletes and high-volume repetitions, athletes are able to see and be aware of how they shoot. By making players aware and breaking down individual aspects of each athlete shot delivery, athletes are better able to improve the efficiency of their shot.

At Four Point Basketball, we want athletes to experience the enjoyment and a sense of accomplishment that comes from player development and the pursuit of excellence. As a result, we are committed to providing athletes with the skills and tools to achieve their goals.

Our staff are positive role models who are extensively pre-screened and trained to ensure that all counselors, coaches and guest speakers are mature, patient, skilled and responsible. We have been able to develop effective drills to help with shooting in transition, using screens, increasing range and speeding up shooting without sacrificing control or accuracy. In many cases this occurs with only minor tweaks to the shot delivery.

  • Alton Edwards Bursary

    Amount: 90% Deadline: June 01, 2017 annually
    Type: Need based
    Age: 10 to 18
    Details: Please see application form.

Application Details: The Alton Edwards Bursary is in honor of a loving son, husband, brother, father and grandfather. Alton Edwards (1939-2004) believed that through sport, children can build self-esteem, leadership and social skills that would weave a positive thread throughout their lives. Alton, in his firm and quiet way, was more than a cheerleader he was a teacher. He ensured that his positive beliefs were passed down to his six children and to all children he came in contact with. Whether Alton was teaching his grandson the joy of fishing, or explaining the ‘sweet science’ of a boxing match, there was always a message in his words; a message that was always teaching the benefits of involvement in sport, of sharing each person’s special gifts, of not taking life too seriously and giving back. At Four Point Basketball we believe, as did Alton Edwards, that athletes wanting to realize their potential should have the opportunity to do just that and not be denied due to financial limitations. In Ontario hundreds of athletes are denied the opportunity to further their development due to one simple fact: lack of funds. The Alton Edwards Bursary was established in 2012 to provide an opportunity for those athletes that would not have the means to participate in camps and clinics. This grant is a way to turn participation in sport into a greater learning tool. Athletes are be provided with resources and techniques on: team-building, how to deal with disappointments, how to improve self-confidence and help in developing a positive character, all while exploring and experiencing the joys of camp. The support provided by the Alton Edwards Bursary Program is available province-wide for athletes aged 9 to 18 who are currently enrolled in school. The goal of the Alton Edwards Bursary is to provide financial assistance to children and youth in need to attend our summer camps and clinics. Every time we help a family, we honour the memory of Alton Edwards; a great man who loved his family and sport with all his heart.

Natural tendenciesexpand

I have improved all around as a player due to Coach Jey-son’s great coaching abilities. Coach Jey-son is constantly coaching, even giving players on other teams advice purely to see people improve at a game he is so passionate about. Jey-son has a vast knowledge of basketball especially when it comes to shooting. Coach Jey-son and his staff are able to help players change their shooting form to one that is best suited to their body type, ability, and natural tendencies. Even when being critiqued it is always positive.
