    COVID-19 Response

Hopefully things will be better before July 2002.... Our club will be following provincial guidelines throughout the summer. In 2020 and 2021, we implemented precautions to ensure the health and safety of all participants. Steps we have taken to keep everyone happy and healthy include: - cleaning and sanitizing all equipment, our clubhouse, and our playground before and after use is one of our top priorities - requiring participants to wear masks indoors when not seated - keeping children in the same group - participants must wash hands for 20 seconds (Sing the happy birthday song) before and after entering the clubhouse - we also have multiple hand sanitizer stations to encourage everyone to sanitize consistently - our bathrooms are sanitized before and after each break during our summer camps as well

Honestly, it was great. The camp leaders are wonderful. My son has been to lots of different camps over the years, and he has never loved one this much.

My son was in a camp for 1 week. This is an amazing Club! Safe and family friendly. He had a great time and found new friends. Staff is polite and takes a good care of kids. We will definitely consider coming back again.

My kids just did their first Cru Rugby Camp and had the best week. I felt very safe sending them there (post Covid lockdown) as so much of the camp takes place in their huge outdoor facilities, and they took all the new safety measures seriously. The camp leaders were brilliant and I love the fact that this camp has boys and girls of all ages playing together (so many camps split by gender and by age). It is a great introduction to rugby in a fun and accessible way. I'm glad we signed the kids up to Saturday rugby for the rest of the summer/fall as they were both very sad for camp to end ... “It was an introduction to rugby for [my child] and a continuation of her improving her motor skills through sport. I wasn’t sure how she would like it, but she absolutely loved it.”

“It was a nice intro to rugby for little kids (mine are 4 and 6) – I can tell that they were learning about rugby and being taught core skills, but it was also very fun and accessible.”

    Director's Message

    Chris Tudor Price, Director

The Crusaders Rugby Club is one of the largest rugby clubs in North America, based in eastern Oakville. Our club, often referred to as The Cru or the Oakville Crusaders, is a community of more than 700 playing members from age 4 to 74. We have more than 500 girls and boys under 18 playing rugby in its various forms within the club. The club’s broader community of alumni, non-playing members and supporters is in the region of 3,500 people. The Crusaders Rugby Club is a non-profit, volunteer-based, inclusive and family-oriented club to which our board directors, coaches, alumni, parents and players donate significant amounts of their time.

In 2019, we started our camps program initially as a way to provide members' kids some summer fun. The camps have blossomed into summer-long programming, attracting more than 300 boys and girls from across the GTA throughout the summer. The camps are founded on the simple philosophy that sport is supposed to be fun and engaging for children. Our camps are all outdoors in our 28 acre park-like facility in Oakville and while rugby-oriented, they're much more than just that: they're multi-activity/multi-sport, about teamwork, making friends, trust, self-confidence, skill development, athletic development, values, enthusiasm, courage, active participation and, yes, abundant fun and laughs.

Our counsellors are university-aged club club members who have been members of the club from the age of 8 or younger, and played or continue to play rugby at national or provincial levels. Their passion for rugby, sport and activity will infect your children, and their love of fun will have your child jumping out of bed in the morning, every morning, to get to camp!

We encourage you to read our camp reviews and reach out to us at any time to discuss camp options.
