A love of gaming is the first requirement for the University of Toronto SCS program. Partnered with Circuit Stream, a tech-based design and development program, U of T created the SCS program as a pre-university initiative for so-inclined students. What’s unique about this program is that not only do kids learn in-demand skills like game development, coding, and virtual reality, they’ll boost their resume and university applications having completed this program. As an added bonus, students network with industry leaders, giving them valuable experience and contacts for the future. Kids get the freedom to work on what interests them and work on their own, with the support they need. Kids don’t feel like they are doing work because they actually enjoy the assignments and at the end they’ll be the creator of their own game, which is great for the portfolio. This course is for teens who do or don’t have experience or skills in the world of coding.
