    Children’s Arts Theatre School’s (CATS) vibrant, professional performing arts experiences for youth include a Summer Camp and ongoing Drama School programs. It’s the local leader in theatre education for kids ages 3–18, blending creativity, skill development, and performance in a fun teaching environment. Many instructors are themselves graduates of CATS’ programs, so they connect with the kids but also know the importance of fun and energy, and of the role everyone plays in creating a great play or production. CATS Summer Camp is an intensive two-week theatre program for kids aged 4–14. Drama, dance, vocals, and visual arts are all included, with half-day and full-day options. In the after-school drama program, games and improv exercises make it fun for kids to let loose, build performance skills, and stretch themselves outside of the classroom. Along the way, they build confidence in their ability to express themselves and get to experience theatre. No matter what age group your child is in, they gain skills as they work toward a culminating performance. It all stems from founder Gina Anki’s four-plus decades of experience in theatre, acting, teaching, and consulting, and a fervent desire to give kids an outlet that helps them grow and flourish.

    WHAT MAKES CATS DRAMA CAMP SO UNIQUE?

    CATS Drama Camp, now in its 24th season, continues to deliver students of all ages with the ultimate in theatrical training and performance quality in just two short weeks of drama camp. Parents often ask us...how do we do it? It is simple really, says Anki, Founder and Artistic Director of Children's Arts Theatre School. If anyone understands how to put on a show it is our staff! Many of whom have been former students of CATS camp, remember how important it is to create a fun, upbeat, engaging theatre arts camp that has something special and unique for each student. Whether it is theatre, dance, vocals or visual arts, we strive to encourage everyone to try something new, to challenge themselves in all sectors of the performing arts, to meet new people and most importantly, to have FUN! We have been very fortunate, in that many of our campers return year after year, with the anticipation of what the summer show will be! Complete with costumes, make up, lights and sound, this season we are delighted to produce an adaptation of Shrek the Musical.     Welcome to the 2019 Summer Camp at Children's Arts Theatre School! We invite you to enjoy all the fun and magic that our hard working campers will bring to the stage! In Aladdin, you'll jump onto magic carpet rides, meet magical Genies, race through forbidden caves, and dance through Arabian streets!!! We are so proud of our campers year after year and the incredible performers they are! We can not wait for an incredible summer season ahead!
