I have been going to Crossroads for 4 years now, and every year right after I leave, I begin counting down until I’m back in my favourite place. It’s such an amazing place to meet new friends, try new things, learn new skills, and strengthen your relationship with God and the new friends you will meet! There are never dull moments with the amazing staff!
(5) Program quality and activities
Every single year there are new activities to choose from; for example, this past year I joined archery, and it was one of my favourite activities I had! Another year I was involved in the ski/wake program, and the amazing staff and boat drivers down at the docks taught me to wakeboard!
(5) Social dynamics and experience
I find it so easy to make friends here. Living with up to 7 other girls for a week, you are bound to make new friendships; everyone is in the same place for the same reason… to get closer to God while having lots of fun being disconnected from social media and the internet!
(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors
The staff are so amazing; everyone is very supportive and inclusive! When it comes to night game or wide game, they always make the experience ten times better, whether it’s by dressing up the part or pulling out their best acting skills! If you ever need anything, you can count on the fact that there will be zero judgment from anyone, no matter what you need help with.
(5) Advice and tips
Don’t be afraid to try new things! There may be some things that sound fun, but you are scared because you have never tried them before… TRY IT! I can promise you all of the program staff know what they are doing and how to help you learn in the proper ways! Just a little tip: bring clothes you aren’t afraid to get dirty and a few fun things that you can use for all the fun meals! And maybe a small fan you can clip onto your bunk in the cabin when it gets hot!
