(5) Overall experience

I started going to Wildhorse camp when I was 11, I had never been to an overnight camp alone before and I was very nervous but after just a few days Wildhorse started to feel like home. The next year I begged my mom to let me go for twice as long, and she did. That year I met 4 girls and we became very close. Sadly they were only staying for one week and I cried the whole day when they left. Since then I have been going back to camp with three of those girls because it has become our second home. With great girls we meet every year and Diane and Bear being such kind and thoughtful people, the camp has such a nice and calm atmosphere I never want to leave. Not to mention the horses. It feels so refreshing being surrounded with such calm and special creatures, it’s always the highlight of my year. That’s why I highly recommend Wildhorse camp because there's not a single thing to not like about it and it’s something I’m always looking forward to. It’s the best second home I could ask for!

(5) Program quality and activities

Wildhorse ranch is the perfect horse camp for riders from all levels. I learned so much not just about riding but also about horsemanship at that camp. Horses are incredible animals and wildhorse really opens your eyes to that and gets you to appreciate them to the fullest. I always look forward to not just the riding but our horse walks and bonding time too, I feel like my riding experience is so much better once I’ve developed a bond with my horse, something I don’t feel at other camps.

(5) Social dynamics and experience

I’m normally a really shy person and have trouble making friends but not at Wildhorse. The second I get to camp I start chatting with all the great girls who go there and it’s no longer a problem for me to make friends. The nights we play games down in the fort(where we sleep) and I absolutely love getting to know all these new people. I made three of my very best friends a few years ago at Wildhorse and even if we live far apart we have such a strong bond thanks to Wildhorse

(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors

The counsellors at camp are always so kind and make me feel very welcome. Even if I’m not the best rider I know that they are not judging me but helping me which is great. I feel like I can talk to them about whatever whether it does or doesn’t have to do with camp

(5) Advice and tips

My advice for campers coming to Wildhorse for the first time is to bring a big water bottle because it’s very hot, and be prepared. As in have proper riding gear which you will be comfortable in in the summer heat. Also don’t lie about your riding level (say you are better then you are) just to seem cool because nobody is judging you and you won’t have as good if a time if you are at a skill level higher then yours
