Fine art skills in drawing and painting are developed through intentional projects in this class. Students build a more advanced understanding of figure, still life and landscape as perspective, colour and light source are explored in each category. Material use and technique are practiced with supportive references in both fine art and photography. A variety of artistic styles and methods will be explored and step-by-step instruction against student goals will be provided. All materials are included.


Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Creativity: As an arts organization, NPCC provides a space where creative curiosity is encouraged and participants get to experience the benefits of trying new ideas and techniques in the artwork they create.
  • Interpersonal skills: Through shared creative experiences, students learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and provide constructive feedback. Collaborative projects promote teamwork, encouraging students to work together and have fun!
