Teen NMTI Intensive - New Works

The teen years can be full of anxiety and angst. What else is new? Being an “almost-adult” is tough. But, you know what else is new?! A brand new collection of songs written specifically for the teenage musical theater performer exploring teenage themes! 

With tunes about summer job drama, first-time dating experiences, parental divorce, drivers’ licenses, and more, What Else Is New? (Featuring songs from the Tweens 'n Teens Songbook Volume 2) gives young performers the chance to workshop and premiere new material while reveling in all things TEEN.

The Teen New Musical Theatre Intensive (NMTI) is a unique and specialized week-long program, designed for young artists looking to develop and challenge their musical theatre skills and be part of collaborating and developing new Canadian musical theatre material. This year artists will have the rare opportunity to be part of the development of a new musical theatre songbook designed for Teens. Artists will work alongside industry professionals on new challenging age-appropriate repertoire and will work towards a final workshop performance. This is an incredible opportunity for young artists!

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

• 2 Contrasting Musical Theatre Pieces (32 bars)

         *One must be a contemporary musical theatre piece

• Artist Statement about why you want to take part in the Youth Intensive

Admission via audition (applicants accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled)
