The Our Kids review of Tommy Thompson Park

    our take

There aren’t many places in Toronto that are as unique as Tommy Thompson Park. This park was built from construction debris and became a globally significant bird area and basically a paradise within the city. There are so many great areas in this park to discover wildlife, watch the birds, and just be in nature. The camps they offer through the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority are some of the best in the city. The camp meets weekly and goes on nature hikes, plays games and creates crafts, while learning how to be a naturalist. There is a great emphasis on the plants and trees in the area, as well as the wildlife and birds. Kids have more fun than they think they’ll have and many come back each year. The fall is the best time to be involved in this camp, with the landscape changing dramatically each and every week.

    - (Parent)Nature Camp - 2021

Many thanks again to you and everyone who helped make nature camp on the spit so much fun! The kids especially appreciate it this year, after being stuck at home through the pandemic!

    - (Parent)Nature Camp - 2020

Our daughter loved her week at nature camp! She was exhausted at the end of each day but had lots of stories to tell and new little tidbits keep coming out weeks later.

    - (Camper)Nature Camp - 2020

This camp is SO cool! It's like pure science!
