The Our Kids review of Silver Lake Mennonite Camp

    our take

Unforgettable camp experiences are what sets Silver Lake Mennonite Camp apart from the rest. Personal growth is on the docket, along with new friendships, and lifelong memories. Welcoming is just one adjective that describes the feel of this camp, as campers of all backgrounds enjoy their time here. The staff are graduates of a two-year leadership program, and most have first-hand experience as campers themselves. The fresh, local, and homemade food made by the Mennonites could be the top reason campers come back year after year. There’s no writing home to mom about bad food here! The facilities are new or newly renovated, so campers feel quite at home. The programming is said to be exceptional, with activities tailored to each age group. The great outdoors is a prime focus, with water activities, campfires, field games, climbing, low ropes, and gardening (and more). Older campers can take a specialized camp—either boating or music—to learn skills and enjoy activities outside of the general programs. Silver Lake Mennonite Camp is an inclusive community for everyone, and is proud of their program that helps children with developmental needs attend the regular program. Financial assistance is also available. This camp is truly for everyone.

Review(s) of Silver Lake Mennonite Camp

    Steve and Sara (Parent)Automatic 10

I just wanted to let you know what a great time Jason had at camp this week. I asked him how he would rate it on a scale from 1 to 10 and it was an automatic 10 and he’s sure he wants to come back next year. We’re really glad he had such a great time. We had a few reservations about sending him…we’ve always worried a bit more about him than our other three children…life has presented him with a few more challenges and we’ve/ he has spent a lot of time working with them. So when he comes away from a week “on his own” and has loved it, we are very happy and relieved. You must have an awesome staff to deal with kids with such a wide variety of personalities/ gifts/ limitations. Thank you so much for all your time and effort in making the week so great for Jason. He doesn’t often explain in detail things that he has experienced (verbalizing things…not so easy for him), but he had a lot to say about his week at Silver Lake. Thanks again! Joel Masewich (Parent)SLMC is by far the best investment

We just wanted to say that we thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for such wonderful camp experiences over the years for all of our three children. As we have said in the past, SLMC is by far the best investment we have made for our childrens’ future – lifelong memories, friendships and personal growth experiences. Joel Masewic ... Read More

Tracy Miller (Parent)Memories that will last a life time!

These are memories that will last her a lifetime and truly benefit her social development and self esteem. Tracy Mille ... Read More
