    About Fraser Lake Camp

Fraser Lake Camp is Willowgrove's overnight camp program. We have been in operation as a mid to small sized overnight camp since 1955. The reason for our success is our emphasis on friendship. Meaningful connections and memories make people who they are. At Fraser Lake Camp it is inspiring to watch children come back year after year and develop into leaders and the talented young adults we hire onto our staff.

Camp is a community. Join us this summer, let's make some memories!

    COVID-19 Response

Fraser Lake Camp is cutting capacity down to 25 campers a week this year, and the 25 campers will be divided into five cohorts of five. We are excited to explore the opportunities a smaller and more intimate camp has to offer, but are sad that everyone who wants to come will not be able to.

We are framing each camper session this year as an "adventure course" with multiple overnights and creative special events. With a smaller collection of all-star staff, it will be an incredible year at Fraser Lake Camp. We feel we can work with these restrictions and make camp better than ever.

We are dedicated to meeting all COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines set out by the Ontario Government and the Ontario Camping Association this summer.

Reserve your spot now, with no deposit and a zero-notice cancellation policy.

The Our Kids review of Fraser Lake Camp

    our take

Fraser Lake began in 1955 as a means of providing kids with an opportunity to get out of the city to experience a different set of priorities and values. Founded by the Danforth Mennonite Church in Toronto, it was an expression of the values of the church, including inclusivity, community, and faith. All of that remains today, and the need for it is greater than ever. The programming reflects all the traditional camp programs, including time spent together on the lake and in the forest. The property is 260 acres, so there is lots of room to roam, and the camp makes great use of that. But, as in that first year, the draw is principally to experience a different pace of life, away from the data smog of our devices, within a community that is focussed on each other, ecology, and physical activity.

    Accomplishing the Almost Impossible
    L.U. (Parent)

We wanted to reach out to say a huge thank you to you and the entire Camp at Home team. You have accomplished the almost impossible....making the summer fun for a rising second grader who was devastated when in person camp was cancelled. Our daughter has had an amazing few weeks with the Camp at Home counselors and other intermediate campers. I understand that you specifically chose the counselors that lead Camp at Home this Summer. Several of them went out of their way to make Leah's experience special. Looking forward to the next two weeks and the Fall session. Many thanks ... Read More

    First Week
    M.G. (Parent)

Thank you so much for an awesome first week of [email protected] for our daughter. She has been so excited and so enthusiastic, and she absolutely loves Camp. You and your team have done an amazing job of doing exactly what you said you wanted to do: re-create a camp environment online. Our first week has been a huge success. And, my daughter has asked to participate for even more weeks. I must also say that the Thursday evening pirate party was nothing short of outstanding. The team did an incredible job. I cannot believe that you all executed a play over zoom, and it really felt like a camp play! It was so cute and so funny and we loved it. And we had a great time preparing costumes. Thank you for assembling a great team and a spectacular program. It is clear that a tremendous amount of work, thought and organization has gone into this. It is truly professional and inspiring. Congratulations on such a great offering. She is really looking forward to next week now that she knows what to expect ... Read More

Is Fraser Lake Camp technology free? Yes At Fraser Lake Camp we value more than anything genuine, heart-felt friendships. We feel the presence of devices can bring attention away from the present moment and distract from the magic of camp. We are a technology free setting.

    Director's Message

    Jason McDowell, Camp Director
    BSc.

My favourite part of Directing FLC is the camp's size. We are a small camp. We host a maximum of 80 campers and a full dining hall is 120 people. A small camp provides the opportunity for a culture of non-anonymity, for a culture where every camper is important. At Fraser Lake Camp I value the judgement free environment and gives campers and staff the opportunity to create lasting friendships and grow.

Community is not only important, it makes us who we are. I work at Fraser Lake Camp to build healthy community.

Also, the advantage of a small camp is that I can say reach out anytime! It would be great to meet you and hear what you are looking for in a camp! - [email protected]
