Astronomy in Action Space Rangers answered our questions

Who are you as an organization?

Space Rangers Camp is back! This year we offer premium Summer camps and public programs! All participants will explore space in our giant 4K portable planetarium! Space experts lead interactive activities, where campers can see the Sun through a telescope, fly space missions to search for life, create their own planets, and much more!

    • Special needs: Not available
    • LGBTQ+ friendly community

What do you do differently or uniquely well?

"Space Rangers is the GTA's premier space camp! We offer the unique 4K planetarium as part of every day's activities. Amazing take-home 'Space Crafts' from 3D planets to flying rockets allow campers to be creative with their new knowledge gained in the planetarium. A variety of expert guests give a taste of careers in Space and related industries, showing campers what they can become!"

Who are your staff and counsellors?

"Our staff are experienced camp counselors who are compassionate and friendly. Lead counselors are trained scientists and educators who excel in creating an amazing camp experience from start to finish."

What do families need to know about registration?

"We love hearing from interested families, and when registering for camp, we like to know why campers want to become Space Rangers! What excites them about the universe? What do they hope to explore in camp? Registration typically opens at the end of February and we accept campers until all spots fill up. Get in early and get our early bird fee!"

    COVID-19 Response

For all in-person programming, we have extra safety measures in place:

Air purifiers to clean air within our planetarium domes every 15 minutes, masks worn by staff in enclosed spaces such as the planetarium, and fully vaccinated staff.

We are committed to a safe and fun space experience for everyone.

I liked that my students could choose what they wanted to hear about. They were able to ask questions and immediately get a response and visual to accompany it. I don't think the content can be improved, it was incredibly interesting and engaging ... Read More

    Kortright Centre for Conservation
    Aldo Missio (Camp alumni)

Astronomy in Action provided the Kortright Centre for Conservation with a dynamic public program, and a fool-proof way to offer an Astronomy Night rain or shine. The inflatable portable planetarium is a marvelous device - an igloo full of stars, and provided a nice intimate teaching space for our attendees of all ages. Ryan is a masterful presenter, and held the audience in thrall to the ancient stories of the sky. Feedback for customer surveys was excellent, and we look forward to working with Astronomy in Action in the future. ... Read More
