This Adventure Development program focuses on building your ‘soft skills’ and leadership attributes. Focused placements in your development areas will help forge the skills required to move onto a future instructional leadership role. Leadership skills will develop further on a 2 day ‘Practice Journey’ and then in the planning for the 8-day ‘Qualifying Journey’ canoe trip. This achieves the Duke of Edinburgh’s Adventurous Journey at the Gold Award Level. The ‘Gold’focus is on the ‘So What’ component of an Adventure-Based Learning (ABL) Program where we take our experiences and knowledge from them and apply new action and behaviour into daily life.‘Gold’consolidates with a supervised overnight ‘solo’ experience where your actions and reflections will integrate into behavioural leadership change.
