Learn how to prepare and edit a body of work to create a portfolio for entry into various post-secondary studio art and design programs. This dynamic course offers students valuable insight on what constitutes a successful portfolio, and the technical support to strengthen their artwork and creative concepts. Students conduct research and develop new portfolio pieces under the mentorship of the Instructor and support from guest TSA Faculty, all of whom are practising artists with specialized knowledge in various industries and admissions requirements. Students have the ongoing opportunity to present and receive feedback on in-process works, and meet with guest Faculty in their field of study for individual critiques.

This course covers a range of practical tools and skill sets required to build a portfolio including: studio-based project development, concept development, documentation, and writing an artist statement. Additionally, this weekly course features topic-based discussions, hands-on demonstrations, group critiques, one-on-one consultations, and excursions to Open House or Portfolio Day events.
