The Tamarack West Outdoor School was founded to provide outdoor experiential learning based in the values of appreciation, mentorship, exploration, and stewardship. The camps extend that dedication through the summer months. On the face of it, it’s a traditional approach to camping—getting kids out into the world, exploring nature with bug nets, magnifying glasses, notebooks and art supplies. And, frankly, that’s precisely the draw for the families that turn to Tamarack West. It’s based in the understanding that getting into nature, and to share that experience, is the best kind of adventure. The values expressed within the programming, including those of compassion and positive mentorship, are rightly also a draw.

We've had a number of meetings in the last few weeks and are really getting excited for the coming Summer. We're building up our mobile supply station to include more arts and crafts and more bug nets, magnifying glasses and excavation tools. We're going to focus on allowing more time at spots where the campers are most happy and engaged. Fingers crossed on having access to some gardens for smoothie foraging. Hope to see you out there and wishing everyone a great rest of the Winter through Spring.
All the best
Jay
We had two kids attend Tamarack West Summer Camp last year. It's now February and they still talk about how much they loved the two weeks they were there. There were a wide variety of activities and they loved, loved the staff. We will be coming back again this year.
Jayden tried out a few different camps last year--city and private--Tamarack West was his favourite!
I loved the field trips and I loved the counselors, they were all extremely nice.
