    About Panda Mandarin Language Programs

Panda Mandarin Language Programs is committed to creating a world of connections through learning that is FUN, ENGAGING, and AUTHENTIC for all students, no matter what age or skill level. We offer a variety of Mandarin classes for children both virtually and in-person. We are a Toronto-based company but with a North American reach, and our teachers are trained with a focus on the needs of students in the US and Canada.

Our programs are highly interactive through storytelling, music, games, and art but also with a strong focus on practical applications of Mandarin. Our students are well supported by a highly qualified teaching team as well as modern content & tools to help them keep engaged outside the classroom.

    COVID-19 Response

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Panda Mandarin has been running our language programs virtually. As things begin to open up, we are now offering some in-person classes at our newly renovated location in the Yonge & Lawrence area, easily accessible via transit & car. This location has a fully updated interior and HVAC system to ensure a clean & bright space. Along with the use of multiple air purifiers, this ensures sufficient clean air is kept circulating. We also have available hand sanitizing stations and sanitizing wipes are used regularly in the space to ensure a clean and safe environment. For summer camps, we are working to also augment the camp experience through local outdoor play spaces and indoor gym space.

All Panda Mandarin staff are required to be vaccinated in order to teach in-person and will wear masks or face shields while indoors. Students will be required to wear masks during all indoor time and will be ask to wear them during outdoor experiences where social distancing may not be possible.

Covid screen forms are to be filled in before students come to class. If your child is ill, we ask that they do not come to class/camp. There are no refunds or make up classes due to missed classes due to illness. In the unlikely event of another shutdown for in-person classes, students may join a virtual class as an alternate option or a credit/refund can be issued.

We will follow local public health guidelines and continually revisit our procedures.

    Director's Message

    Yollanda Zhang, Director & Co-owner
    BASc, B.Ed, OCT

Hi, I’m Yollanda, the Director and Founder of Panda Mandarin Language Programs. I founded Panda Mandarin because I wanted to have a way for our daughter to keep up her ability to speak Mandarin in a fun and engaging way and stay connect to my family. We are not your typical language school. We offer small class sizes that focus on practical Mandarin learning using songs, games, dance, art, and STEM. Our in-person and virtual classes offer different ways of reaching our students and supporting them where they are, all while maintaining the same quality and fun our students expect. We also support our parents outside the classroom using technologies to help students learn and practice at home.

We are so proud of the hundreds of students we’ve had the pleasure of teaching. We are also proud of the our teachers for their commitment and dedication to our students during this difficult pandemic. Come for a trial class to see how we can help your child experience the fun and magic of Mandarin language learning!
