The Niagara Parkway—the route through which Niagara Christian Collegiate is accessed—is a sleepy, scenic drive along the eastern edge of the Niagara Peninsula. The campus, for anyone driving by, can seem sympathetically sleepy, a world away from the hustle of urban life. Which, to some extent, it is. What you don’t see—and perhaps what even locals don’t accurately grasp—is the diversity of the programs and the breath of facilities here, especially demonstrated during the summer season. There are ESL sessions, offering intensive instruction and immersion, while the location offers a unique perspective on North American life. The campus looks onto the Niagara River and the United States on the other side. There’s a lot of history here, including the centuries-old forts that dot either side of the border, as well as the natural heritage, including Niagara Falls and the Niagara Escarpment just a short drive away. All of those assets, as well as proximity to international transportation hubs in Toronto and Buffalo, NY, make the camp accessible to campers from around the world. As such, for campers arriving locally, the experience is can be remarkably international. In addition to the ESL sessions, NCC also offers academic, adventure, and equestrian programs.

How was summer camp?" they ask me. If I’m being completely honest, it was amazing! I always love going to camp but going to this camp was a whole new experience. I believe this was one of my best camp experiences. I got to meet people from all over the world!
I really enjoyed the fact that we kept a busy schedule. Each day we also had a few hours to ourselves, we could go play basketball in the gym, or hang out in the lounge. Once a week we would watch a movie and one night we had a lip sync battle.
One of my favourite parts of camp was the weekend we went to Toronto. In Toronto, we had many activitites. For example, we went to the Hockey Hall of Fame, Medieval Times, the Eaton Centre Mall, Ripley’s Aquarium, and Canada’s Wonderland. We went out almost every day to go somewhere in Niagara Falls, like Clifton Hill for example.
Back on campus we’d eat three full meals per day. For breakfast we’d have the choice to eat toast, bagels, waffles, soup, omlettes, cereal, and eggs. Every Wednesday for lunch we’d have fried food. No matter what we ate, the food was amazing! The last night of camp we had ribs, spaghetti, potatoes, and garlic bread. The cooks always made sure you had no allergies, and if you did they’d make you something else just as good.
In conclusion, I think you would really enjoy this camp. I’m sure whichever camp program you decide to go to, you will like it. It’s definitely worth the experience!

I loved Safari Summer Camp. It is a wonderful experience and I made a lot of good memories. I met a lot of people from all around the world, and I think that´s what made it so nice, sharing this experience with them. I liked going to the zoo everyday and getting to see different types of animals. People from the zoo helped us to interact with the animals and we also learned about water and trees. Bruce Evans is a great teacher. He knows a lot about animals. We also got to visit the Bird Kingdom and the Butterfly Conservatory - I liked going to Niagara Falls.
This experience made me think about studying something that has to do with animals. I would recommend Safari Camp because I had a lot of fun and all of the staff are very nice.

I was lucky enough to to spend three weeks of my summer at Safari Summer Camp. I was reluctant to go at first, but am very thankful I did as it was three of the best weeks I have ever experienced. I was able to participate in activities I never thought I would be able to do, such as feeding hippos and working behind the scenes in the zoo. By doing this, I also was able to learn a lot of new and interesting things. As well as working with the animals, I became very close friends with all the other participants, some who I still keep in touch with. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Safari Camp and hope I get to do it again next summer! Sarah L.
