  • Insider Reviews & Perspectives

The Our Kids review of Heritage Park

    our take

Take a step back into the past and experience Heritage Park’s summer camp. Kids will learn about their history and how the pioneers did it for their week at this day or overnight camp. Going “old school”, there are many adventures to be had, like needle-felting as a Frontier Artist or collecting eggs from the hens as a Prairie explorer. The Home on the Range overnight camp is like nothing they’ve ever experienced. Kids will sleep in a barn bunkhouse, cook on a wood-burning stove, feed the farm animals, and even hammer steel. Camp counselors and kids play the part and it’s mandatory to dress in traditional garb. Kids are loaned their costumes for the week of camp, so that’s an interesting bonus. There’s even a really cool steam train that kids can ride. Kids attending Heritage Park camp will definitely come home with many tales to tell.
