This two week academy puts the most widely used software development tools directly into students hands. Java is the most widely used programming language and React is the industry standard for cross platform application development. Students will have the opportunity to open many doors with the knowledge and know-how to use Java and React to develop apps, games, and drawings. Student first study Java then use React to develop mobile applications for multiple platforms including iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile.

Week 1, Intro to Java Programming: At the beginning of the week, students will learn to use Processing commands to learn the basics of programming and create their own drawings and animations. By the end of the week, students will learn Object Oriented programming in Java to create multi-class games or applications.

Week 2, Mobile App Development with React: At the beginning of the week, students will learn to weave together new skills in React, HTML, Javascript, and CSS to create useful and fun apps. By the end of the week, students will learn to create strong UIs and apps or games of their choice. Solve a problem, or just make something fun!
