Private Dance Lessons

Private dance lessons at CBY Music and Performing Arts are tailored to meet the needs of the individual and help them to achieve their specific goals.

Acting lessons are delivered using the following 3 pathways:

Recreational Path:
The recreational pathway puts a greater emphasis on learning and understanding routines. These routines can extend across a variety of genres, from ballet to musical theatre to ballroom, and focuses on the joy of dancing and confidence building. General dance technique and stylistic appreciation are taught experientially through the act of performing and reciting selected routines.. 

Exam Path:
Students wishing to earn their dance qualifications can do so with CBY. Our certified teachers will lead the student through all the requirements to prepare and succeed in their dance exams.

Foundation Path:
This pathway is for students who wish to develop a strong foundation in their craft. Students are supported as they study a variety of dance methods, combining theory, performance,  technique and stylistic awareness. This is the ideal path for students who are interested in working professionally in the industry, obtaining agent representation or auditioning for higher education programs.

Students can choose to mix all three pathways, just focus on one or switch pathways as their objectives change. We have found that this bespoke method of training accommodates the evolving goals of the young singer and keeps them working towards a multitude of music based milestones.

All dance students, regardless of path, are given the chance to perform in our biannual student concert series, as well as various non-competitive performances and shows, providing them with valuable performance and growth experiences.

Private lessons are 60 minutes per week on Sundays and occur on a monthly rolling basis. Monthly tuition fees range between $280 & $300 per month. Please contact us to find out about availability.
