Three R's is far from a 'cookie cutter' program located in Oakville, Ontario. Picture a community butcher shop rather than a variety or department store. We understand that children learn at different speed and in different styles. Therefore we will take time to focus on enhancing numbers and language skills according to a tailored program design for each participants, which may overlap at times. We endeavour to prepare them for a strong new school year using instruction, games and collaborative activities. Our programs are offered to elementary school children. Programs delivered through winter camp in December, spring camp in March, summer camp in July to August, after-school programs and half-day Saturday's throughout the school terms.
Your early years child will become more familiar with numbers, counting, patterning, sequencing, alphabet, letter soundings, writing and reading. Your older years child will build on the foundational things. They will practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, time, money, fraction, reading, comprehension, spelling, and writing. This will all be achieved through instructions, tailored games, activities and filed trips. It's really unconventional tutoring. We still make time to do dance sessions, parties, watching movies, going to the park, etc.
Choose the right programs and sessions for your child; Three R's Academics currently has 1 program available; 6 TBD.

No matter your level of experience or achievement in any field, fundamentals are always critical to success. From the name through to its programming, this organization develops foundational academic skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Kids gain a base here, though the approach is anything but rigid. Programs give individualized attention to students’ diverse learning styles and aptitudes. They’re available to a broad age range, and are uniquely appealing thanks to games and enjoyable activities that focus on making learning fun. What truly sets Three R’s apart, though, is a compassionate understanding that errors are a necessary part of growth. That mindset is the ground for programs that help kids take more ownership of their own learning.
Dear Parent/guardian,
The year 2020 started out as a challenging one for most individuals and families. At the time of planning for Three R’s numeracy and literacy camp, it was supposed to only run for the summer. This was planned as a pilot program for a potential future running of a Homework Club. The COVID 19 pandemic has created a lot of changes, distortion, disorientation and imbalance; not just nationally but also globally.
The initiative for the start of this program was not due to the pandemic. This was a plan from my experience in the last few years. I worked in the Halton school board for over six years and had the opportunity to work alongside (academic support) some of the children both in the special education program and in the general classroom settings. Outside of that, I have tutored elementary level children and also assess the areas of academic needs using non conventional methods, but with successful outcomes. Our program goes beyond the classroom curriculum. Three R's incorporates added knowledge and skills that will definitely become useful in the future.
I recall my first year of nursing, as one of the requirements were to write a Math test before we are allowed to administer medication. We were not allowed to use calculators. My long multiplication and long division skills came in very handy. Therefore here at Three R’s, though we have calculators and tablets to do quick computation, we also teach participants to do these manually. We welcome you to come see and talk about what we do differently that may enhance your child’s academic skills.
At the end of March 2020, there was no way of knowing, even at the governmental level, what the future holds on a social, economical and personal level. It was hard for families to even plan for future events for their children as there was no knowledge of if and when they will return to school for the rest of the school year. It was not by choice but a mandate for students to remain out of academic institutions until deemed otherwise. To that end, I have extended our program beyond a summer camp, to include all holiday camps, after school and weekend sessions. We now offer transportation services. Summer camp includes a full meal service.
We would like to offer some assurance and extra support to any struggles or gaps the pandemic lock downs and distortion may have posed for many, and hopefully also provide some resolution.
