This course is designed to introduce students to the basics of microeconomics. Students will begin to explore the concept of money, and the difference between borrowers, lenders, shareholders, and the terminology used in financial systems. Students will use different case studies and example market situations to track portfolios, and learn about the stock market. Students are required to bring should bring a personal laptop with access to Microsoft Excel.
The Appleby College Summer Academy offers a wide range of academic enrichment courses to suit students with different backgrounds and different needs. We offer small class sizes, with no more than 15 students per class, with an average of 10. Lunch will be provided at the school for students who register for full day courses. Courses offered are subject to enrollment and may be cancelled prior to the session commencement due to insufficient enrollment; in this case, students will be offered a full refund.
