Summer Camp Kicks Off
Another school year concluded with much excitement for another spectacular year gone by and the next which awaits us only a few short months away. While a few students return home for the summer months, a large portion of the Glenholme student population stay for the summer and are joined by a number of new campers for a summer program filled with creative and innovative recreational opportunities.
The Glenholme Summer Program is two fantastic fun-filled months. The camp is structured with an abundance of exciting and engaging opportunities for campers to expand their interest and learn new habits for social interaction. The abilities developed during the summer, such as team work, improved communications, problem solving skills and greater self awareness carry forward to assist them in their future endeavors.
After weekday morning academics, the campers are offered a wide array of engaging activities, competitions and team events to choose from. At the forefront are the arts programs designed around the summer play production. Glenholme has traditionally enjoyed active participation in the summer play with as a sizable portion of the campers involved in the summer play's production, set design, stage management, musical numbers, dance elements and much more. Everyone is anticipating a huge hit with the 2009 summer production of "High School Musical" already underway and the participants are looking to surpass the success of the 2008 summer performance of "Grease."
Camp offerings include a culinary experience, an equestrian program as well as go carts, tennis, and swimming, softball, and golf both on and off campus. Basketball and the ropes course round out a complete fitness regime. For the more serious academic, a robotics program and computers challenge the minds along with more festive events that include mad scientist, balloon launch, water balloons, and bottle rockets. The creative arts program encompasses visual arts, dance, piano, percussion, guitar, and writing. The summer camp sprinkles many off campus opportunities, some single day and some for several days of camping or sightseeing.

Devereux Glenholme is an exceptional boarding school for students with special needs, which offers an individually prescribed learning environment with a steadfast academic curriculum.
