"Not All Girls Want To Be Paper Thin"expand

Case Study#3 "Not All Girls Want To Be Paper Thin" Emily and Jessica were best friends; not only did they share the same interest in female athletes, they both wanted to build stronger and more powerful bodies themselves. They both secretly dreamed of joining the local girls' hockey team but neither had the nerve to try. At school Emily & Jessica were sometimes picked on because they were just naturally so thin. Their hip bones stuck out, their legs were less than shapely, and no matter what clothing they wore, in no time at all it would begin to hang and to sag in all the wrong places. And, needless to say, their confidence around boys was less that stellar! Emily and Jessica talked to their phys ed teacher about desire their desire to build muscles and strength their bodies. "Julia, an Obese Teenager"expand

Case Study#2 "Julia, an Obese Teenager" Julia is 150 lbs overweight. Though academically she can hold her own, she is often the brunt of nasty jokes at her school. (Let's face it, girls can sometimes be mean.) At a recent check-up with her doctor she was told she was now considered obese and that serious health problems would ensue if she didn't start losing weight, soon. Julia's problems are neither unique nor all her fault... and she did not become obese overnight. She comes from a loving family but little emphasis has ever been placed on healthy food choices or watching why you eat. Though not yet obese, Julia's 2 siblings and her Mom are definitely headed down that road. It was the school counselor at Julia's school who told her about our PulsePlus Boot Camp for overweight teens and their families. Julia discussed it with her Mom and two sisters and they decided they would give our Special Boot Camp a try. After being in the PulsePlus Boot Camp for just 3 months Julia is making great progress. Her self-esteem has improved dramatically because she has already dropped 3 dress sizes. And she knows she has only yet begun. Case Study#1 "Father & Son Working Out Together" Trevor is a 13 year old boy. By no means was he obese, but his weight was definitely becoming an obstacle in his day-to-day routine. Recently his self-esteem was challenged when he didn't make it for the try-out at his school's football team. Trevor's dad, Nick, used to be a baseball player when he was a kid. In those days he was fit, and strong and a not a bad third basemen! He remembered what it was like, back then, for his friends who didn't make the team. He had heard about the PulsePlus Boot Camps designed specifically for Fathers & Sons and decided to sign them up. Well the results speak for themselves. With a three month commitment to our PulsePlus Kids Boot Camp Trevor lost a total of 15 lbs. And as an added benefit of being there to support his son, Dad managed to trim off 10 pounds of body fat as well! They learned about nutrition, healthy food choices and the importance of being active every day. Needless to say Trevor and Nick are happy they went to the PulsePlus Boot Camp.
