Director's Message

Christina Bossart, Camp Director

Hello and welcome to Hidden Bay,

I am so excited to be headed into Hidden Bay's 19th summer and my 4th summer at camp.

We are a camp that is small by design but we focus on making Leadership and Character a way of life for all our campers.

You may wonder, why a Leadership Camp?  Every family has their reasons for wanting a Hidden Bay camp experience, bit we have a few reasons why we think you should consider a Leadership Camp.

  • We create an environment of trust, by first building positive relationships between campers. These connections allow for campers to feel safe to discuss topics, reflect on their goals and recognize others’ achievements. They know that their voice is being heard; their ideas listened to.
  • Campers become facilitators of change in their own lives. We create responsibility in youth by guiding them to self-monitor around expectations, rather than rules. These skills prepare our campers to confidently conduct themselves in a courteous, respectful and responsible manner not only at camp, but also at home and at school.

We hope to see your camper this summer, and if you have any questions, please don't hestitate to contact us at any time to learn more about our program.

Christina - aka. Stitch

About Christina:

From Parry Sound, Christina is the year-round Camp Director who makes sure that everything is running smoothly with the camp program, facilities, staff and camp families throughout the year.  Christina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s University in Geography and a Master of Science from the University of Texas at Austin in Community Planning.  Christina grew up as a camper at Northwaters/Langskib, and then spent four years as a wilderness guide with Black Feather.  After spending a half-decade in outdoor and environmental organizations in Parry Sound and Muskoka doing education, outreach and fundraising, she returned to camps in 2015 to take the Camp Director position at Hidden Bay.

With a diverse background in administration, risk management, wilderness travel and education, Christina approaches camp with passion, energy and heart.  She cares deeply for the camp, the campers and its programs and is always looking for ways to continue to improve and strengthen the Hidden Bay community, to ensure that it is a welcoming and inclusive environment for all campers.

Christina is a graduate of the International Camp Directors Course, a member of the Standards Committee of the Ontario Camps Association and a Lifesaving Society Instructor.

In my opinion, there is no tonic more potent than going to a camp in the "real" country, where they learn new skills, face new challenges, make new friends, meet new goals, and take responsibility for themselves and their actions.
