You may see the term LIT or CIT program; it's short for Leadership-in-Training or Counsellor-in-Training program.
These are opportunities camps provide for young adults, typically aged 16 or 17, who have spent some years as campers and who want to become counsellors or part of the summer staff.
LITs and CITs learn such things as characteristics of campers and behaviour management, group dynamics and communication, planning and running a program, creating lesson plans, teaching sessions and more.
These programs are great preparation for school, work and life and employers love to see them on resumes. Take a look at some of the positions available at Ontario's and Quebec's leading summer camps ?
